Azerbaijan’s Gubadli district: 25 years since occupation

Twenty-five years have passed since Azerbaijan’s Gubadli district was occupied by Armenian Armed Forces. 

Azerbaijan's Gubadli district, covering an area of 802 square km, with population of about 30,000 people living in 94 settlements, was occupied by Armenian military forces on August 31, 1993.

Some 283 volunteers died defending the district, seven of them were awarded the high title of Azerbaijani National Hero. People who survived now are accommodated in 47 districts of Azerbaijan.

Gubadli district is distinguished by its favorable geographic location, unique picturesque landscape, rocky and steep mountains, rivers of Barkushad and Akara.
