Russian politicians congratulate Azerbaijan on independence

The Russian Public Chamber Commission for Development of Public Diplomacy and Support of Compatriots Abroad organized a round table conference entitled “A new stage of relations of Russian and Azerbaijan. The results of 23 years of independence of the Azerbaijani Republic.” Participants in the conference discussed visits of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Minister for Agriculture Alexey Ulyukayev, Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky and other politicians to Baku in the last 4 months.

Moscow and Baku successfully cooperate in humanitarian sector

Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko said at the 4th International Humanitarian Forum in Baku that Russia and Azerbaijan were successfully cooperating in the humanitarian sphere. 35 senators have been replaced at the Federation Council of Russia. 20 of them have become senators for the first time. 13 more new members will soon join it. 4000 Ukrainian refugees to study at Russian universities

Russian Minister for Education and Science Dmitry Livanov told Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that Russian universities will have 4000 places for Ukrainian refugees, Gazeta.ru reports.Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko said in June that Ukrainian refugees will be given 1500 places for study.

65,000 people from south-east of Ukraine stay in Russia

Russia to become independent from food imports

Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, said at the Belarus and Russia Forum of Regions in Minsk that Russia may become a major world food supplier. She reminded that Russia imported about a third of all its food consumed, RIA Novosti reports.Matviyenko noted the need to control GMO products, develop eco products and protect consumers from low-quality products. She believes that Russia and Belarus have a basis for enforcing food security as Union States.
