Maria Zakharova: Russia and Turkey still restoring former relations

Relations between Moscow and Ankara are in the process of returning to the previous level of cooperation, the development of which was interrupted by the tragedy with the Russian fighter, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, said, answering a question from Vestnik Kavkaza.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry is asessing our relations with Ankara as the process of restoring the full-format relations to the level which we had before the tragedy when a Russian plane was shot down and Russian servicemen were killed," the diplomat explained.

Yesterday, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey has overcome differences with Russia, the ties have been restored and the two countries are cooperating in solving a number of regional problems.
