First sports channel begins broadcasting in Georgia

The "Global Media Group" (GMG) will be the first sports broadcaster in
Georgia. It will broadcast through six channels, said the chief
producer of the GMG, the former general director of Imedi, Bidzina
Baratashvili, News-Georgia reports.

"This project is not a TV station in the classic sense of this word.
The GMG combines six cable channels and will broadcast through cable
providers," - said Baratashvili.

A football channel, as well as a channel dedicated to all kinds of
sport, will start to broadcast in February.

In the early spring a children's channel will be launched.
