The European Union promises to allocate 560 million euros for humanitarian support of Syria in 2017, with plans to maintain the same level of financial aid in 2018, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said at Brussels Conference on Supporting the future of Syria..

"The EU Union has fulfilled its pledges for 2016. We will also deliver on our pledge for 2017 and we will continue to be the first humanitarian donor and the strongest supporter of the people of Syria and the neighboring countries. Today we commit the same level of support of 560 million euros for Jordan, Lebanon and for the humanitarian work inside Syria for 2017. We have the ambition to maintain the same engagement level in 2018," Sputnik cited Mogherini as saying.
