Kremlin confirms Russia was informed about US strikes in Syria

Russia was informed about forthcoming US strikes in Syria over existing communication channels, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov confirmed.

However, "nobody called Russian President, Peskov said, explaining that information was received through existing information-exchange channels.

"Yes, this piece of information [about forthcoming strikes] was furnished," TASS cited the Kremlin’s representative as saying.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis said that "Russian forces were notified in advance of the strike using the established deconfliction line."
