Azerbaijan opens betting shops

The first official bookmakers started their work n Azerbaijan this Tuesday, Trend reports.

The first game for which bets are accepted, is a friendly match Kasympasha (Turkey) - "Khazar-Lankaran (Azerbaijan) that will start today at 17.00 by Baku time.

Ministry of Taxes and Finance agreed that tax on wagering activities account for up to 6 percent. On August  23, 2010 the Azerbaijani government decided  that 4.2 per cent of the funds invested by the players of sports betting will be directed to the development of physical culture and sport in Azerbaijan.
