Russian President congratulates Dagestan on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the republic

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the residents of Dagestan on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the republic and thanked them for their contribution to the fight against terrorism.

”Dagestan is a land of ancient culture and an influential center of traditional Islam. The region is unique in its ethnic diversity. There are more than a hundred nationalities and representatives of various confessions. The republic has produced prominent artists, scientists and athletes,” Medvedev said in a congratulatory telegram published on Tuesday on the Kremlin website.

The Russian president also believes that the way to increase living standards, industrial development, agriculture, education and healthcare lies in public safety, law and order. The President expressed confidence that "courage, hard work and an entrepreneurial spirit will succeed on this path." Medvedev added that the residents of Dagestan can always count on the support of the federal authorities.
