Results of negotiations between Putin, Tillerson, Lavrov

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson with participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has ended a few hours ago. The meeting was preceded by five-hour tete-a-tete talks between Lavrov and Tillerson. After that heads of diplomacy of the two countries gave a press conference.

First of all, Sergey Lavrov said the negotiations were positive. "The talks were thorough, honest, covered the whole range of issues that are very important for our bilateral relations, for interaction on international affairs," he informed.

According to him, Tillerson showed the readiness to support international investigation of the events in Idlib. "We see attempts to disturb our cooperation, we see attempts to aggravate confrontation. We believe that this is a short-sighted approach. History has proved that when Moscow and Washington cooperate, not only our nations win, but the entire world," Lavrov stressed.
