Russian-Abkhaz manoeuvres have finished

Two weeks of joint training of Abkhaz law-enforcement agencies and

Russian border personnel have finished in Abkhazia, the Border staff
of the FSB reports.

The operating control office of the Abkhaz law-enforcement agencies,
the Russian border airforce and special services participated in the
operation, Interfax reports.

On the first day of exercises on April 22nd, the aims of the training
were fixed and operational-tactic computations were carried out.

The practical part of the training, aimed at detaining trespassers on
the frontier between Georgia and Abkhazia, was conducted in the Gali
district of Abkhazia, which neighbours Georgia.

The manoeuvres were also aimed at locating and neutalising terrorist
groups from nearby territories.
