Ukraine returns to Georgia books stolen from Tbilisi University

Ukraine gave back to Georgia 56-sheet books stolen from Dzavakhishvili Tbilisi State University, a Ukrainian Interior Ministry statement said.

The books were stolen from Tbilisi State University and illegally brought to Ukraine. In March 2008 the books were seized from a citizen of Georgia a customs search.

According to the legal system of Ukraine, the books became the property of the state and were given to the national history library of Ukraine. The collection consists of ancient expensive books on history and literature. They were given to the envoy of Georgia in Ukraine for further transfer to the legal possessor.
