New judging rules significantly complicate the life of not only athletes, but also many judges, Russian gymnast Alina Averina said today in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

Now judges can evaluate performances based only on what they see. I think it's much more difficult than before, because now they have to keep up with so many things," she said.

She has positively assesed her performance. "Of course, I'm not happy with everything, but today I performed much better with ribbon and clubs than I performed with ball and hoop yesterday," she noted.

"Rhythmic gymnastics made me better person, taught me to live independently, gave me everything," she concluded.

The FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup will be held in Baku on April 28-30. Participation of 94 gymnasts from 21 countries is expected in the event, 37 of them will perform in the individual program, while 57 gymnasts will take part within the teams of group exercises. Athletes will compete for 8 medal sets.
