Trump continues sanctions against Syrian government

US President Donald Trump has continued the national emergency with regard to Syria for another year, which enables the blocking of property of certain government officials and prohibits the exportation of some products to the country, the White House said in a press release on Tuesday, Sputnik reports.

"[In] accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, 50 USC 1622(d), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency declared with respect to the actions of the Government of Syria," the release stated.
