Three hours to reach Elbrus
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaKarl Egloff, athlete from Ecuador, set two new records during the Red Fox Elbrus Race on May 7th, 2017, which was held in Kabardino-Balkaria.
He reached the summit of Mt. Elbrus in only 3 hours 24 min - and also set a new World Record for the route to the summit and back in 4 hours 20 min 45 sec, TASS reported.
Shyngys Baikashev (Kazakhstan) and Eugeny Markov (Russia) ran second and third respectively.
Vitaly Shkel (Russia), who set a record in 2015 as the fastest skyrunner summited Elbrus with result 03:29:04 within the festival, ran fourth.
