Alissa Sadek: Azerbaijani gymnasts are strongest at Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAzerbaijani gymnasts are the strongest competitors at the rhythmic gymnastics competitions of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Lebanese gymnast Alissa Sadek said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.
"In my opinion, the strongest teams in this tournament are, of course, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. There is a well-developed gymnastics in these countries and a large number of strong athletes, so they were able to nominate three gymnasts," she noted.
Alissa Sadek stressed that the Organizing Committee brilliantly organized these games. "I was in Baku one year ago at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, and everything here was very good, and this time I liked the organization of the competitions even more," she admitted, adding that Baku has all the conditions for gymnasts, including the professional gymnastic arena for training and tournaments and the Village of athletes for accommodation.
The Lebanese gymnast admitted that she was happy to participate in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku. "I am participating in competitions of such a level for the first time, so it's like a mini-Olympic games for me," Alissa Sadek said.
The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Baku on 16 sports grounds in 20 sports – 17 Olympic ones and three non-Olympic ones.
