The consequences of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict and the fight against sea piracy are on the agenda of PACE's spring session, which will start today.

The ITAR-TASS source said that Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych will address the European Parliament to speak about perspectives of
EU-Ukrainian cooperation. He also added that the Russian foreign minister will participate in the session of April 27 as a special guest.

It is expected that co-reporters of the PACE commission David Wilsher (UK) and Matias Ershi (Hungary) will report on the situation in the
region, based on the results of research. The ex-head of the commission which investigated the circumstances of the conflict will also make a report.

The European parliamentarians will also discuss more than 20 world and European issues, including the fallout of the world economic crisis, its influence on migration in Europe and the problem of lobbying in a democratic society.
