International competition to promote Russian language held in Armenia

An international competition "Russian Bear - Linguistics for all" was held for the first time in Armenia in November 2010. It has recently recognized 144 winners, schoolchildren of Armenia, said the executive director of the Educational Foundation "Aib" David Sahakian, News-Armenia reports.

The competition was attended by more than 2 thousand children from 49 schools of Yerevan and Gyumri (Shirak region).

The main goal of the contest "Russian Bear: Linguistics for all" is to develop interest in the Russian language.

The competition was organized by the Educational Foundation "Aib" in November 2009 in four schools in Yerevan with the participation of 262 schoolchildren.

The “Russian Bear” competition was held for the first time in Russia in 2000. Since then it has been actively expanding.
