The Children’s Decade, which will be declared in Russia in 2018-2027, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin's decree, will become a very important period, the country's Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said at the meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Implementation of the National Strategy.

According to her, nursery care for children under the age of three, as well as support for maternity and demography will be a priority. "We will work with specialists. I think that this program will be worthy of our state and our children," Golodets concluded.

The Speaker of the Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko, in turn, said that the new project was designed to determine the main areas of support for the whole generation entering adult life, RIA Novosti reports.

The vice-rector at RANEPA Alexander Safonov, speaking to a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, noted that there are a number of children's problems that require constant attention from the state. "First of all, these are issues of preschool and school education. The government invests heavily in the development of preschool and school institutions, but nevertheless, two tasks need to be addressed. The first task is to make these institutions more accessible, since Russia is expected to increase the number of small citizens in the near future. The second task is to raise the quality of education," he pointed out.

Family issues are also important. "In particular, we are talking about ensuring the rights of the family, the government is facing an important task of ensuring the material well-being of families. The situation is still difficult here because there is not enough money in the budgets," Alexander Safonov stressed.

Attention should be also given to the education of children by the citizens of their country. "A special program is needed here, for example, a large part of the educational process in South Korea is built on the principle of knowledge of national and historical values: children are taken to different parts of the country so that they understand that there is a relations of current life with the previous historical experience of the country," the vice-rector at RANEPA pointed out.

The government also has to deal with the problems of children's safety. "We cannot solve the problems of demographic stability without serious programs connected with the physical education of a healthy generation on the one hand. A large number of children are born with disabilities, and we need to learn how to work with these children," Alexander Safonov concluded.
