Wind storm kills three people in Kazakhstan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThree people were killed and another three injured in a wind storm that hit Taraz, the administrative center of the Zhambyl region, on Monday, the regional governor Karim Kokrekbayev said.
Kazakh Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev ordered the Government to provide all necessary assistance to the families of those killed as a result of violent winds in Taraz, Jambyl region.
"The situation is currently under control," Kokrekbayev said.
Two construction workers and a 14-year-old schoolboy were killed as a result of the strong winds that downed trees and cut off electric wires, AKIpress reported.
Authorities said the speeds of the winds reached 18 m/s, with gusts up to 27 m/s. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan said that the wind speed in Bishkek and Chuy region reached 21 meters per second. No injuries were reported in Kyrgyzstan.
