Astana holds first education Congress

Kazakhstan is holding its first Congress of educational workers,
reports a VK reporter in the country’s capital, Astana.

Representatives of the education spheres of CIS state-members are
taking part in the 26th-27th congress.

"The forum will give serious impetus to closer cooperation in the
sphere of education within the framework of the CIS," the speaker of
the Kazakh parliament, Kasim-Zhomart, said in his address to
participants.

He also added that one of the most important aims is the "publishing
of textbooks of a common standard as well as the unification of the
teaching process".

An agreement on cooperation between the leading universities of CIS
states will be signed at the Congress.
