United National Movement names TV host as candidate for Tbilisi Mayor

Former anchor of Rustavi 2 broadcaster, Zaal Udumashvili, was named as the United National Movement (UNM) opposition party’s mayoral candidate for the upcoming local elections in the autumn.

"I have made a solution and I am getting involved in a decisive battle to save Tbilisi,” Udumashvili said during the party assembly in Tbilisi.

Udumashvili vowed he would meet with Tbilisi residents to listen to their problems and settle "a range of problems” Tbilisi and its residents are facing currently, Agenda.ge reported.
