Ilham Aliyev: Declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Poland is a very serious political document
Read on the website Vestnik Kavkaza"I would like to thank you for inviting me to Poland and for your hospitality towards me and the delegation. I am very pleased to be in the friendly land of Poland again,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in a statement to the press following his meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda, APA reports.
The Azerbaijani president said that a sincere exchange of ideas took place during the meeting. Poland and Azerbaijan are two friendly countries. We will continue to strengthen our friendship and we will make joint efforts for the development of our relations. Today, many important documents were signed. These documents determine the prospects of our cooperation. Of course, I would like to note the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership and Economic Cooperation signed by the Presidents. This is a very serious political document. This declaration covers almost all aspects of our relations, as well as political, economic, energy, transport issues," he said.
The Azerbaijani president said that the mutual relations cover the economic sphere. “Transport and energy - I think these should be priority directions of the economic bloc. In the field of energy, Azerbaijani oil is delivered to Polish markets. Today, along with partner countries, Azerbaijan is successfully implementing the Southern Gas Corridor project. This project will deliver Azerbaijani gas to Europe. The total cost of the project is $40 billion and its implementation is being successfully carried out. I hope that the first phase of this project will be completed by next year and the second—and final—phase by 2020. Thus, Azerbaijan will act as a very reliable partner for Europe,” he added.
