Iran destroys 126 drug laboratories

The head of the special Service for Counteracting Illegal Trafficking in Narcotics, Hamid Reza Hossein-Abadi, said about 20,170 people involved in drug production and drug proliferation had been detained, SalamNews reports.

He also stated that the special services managed to destroy an international drug ring. Last month a large gang of smugglers was arrested. They produced drugs in a furniture factory and transferred the drugs to Malaysia. The Iranian authorities informed their Malaysian colleagues about other members of the gang hiding on the territory of Malaysia. As a result, 12 core members of the gang were arrested.
