Sabantuy in Moscow
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe citywide festival Sabantuy took place for the seventh time in the Moscow museum-reserve of Kolomenskoye on July 22.
Sabantuy is a favorite holiday of the Tatar and Bashkir peoples. It includes ceremonies, customs, songs and dances. Since 2002, the holiday has been officially included in the UNESCO's list of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Like every year, the Moscow Sabantuy has an interesting and diverse program: a concert of arts masters from Moscow, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, as well as neighboring countries, fun games, contests, workshops and the national food fair.
The festival was organized by the Moscow Government, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan under the President of Russia, the regional non-governmental association 'Tatar national-cultural autonomy of Moscow', the regional non-governmental association of Bashkortostan, the administration of Naberezhnye Chelny and the Moscow museum-reserve of Kolomenskoye.
