Turkey hosts 25th World Winter Student Games

Turkey's Erzurum began hosting the 25th World Winter Student Games today.
The official opening ceremony will start at 19.30 (local time).

President Abdullah Gul, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Mehmet Ali
Sahin, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ministers, politicians and
high-ranking officials and businessmen will be at the opening
ceremony.

Approximately 3,000 athletes from 58 countries will take part in the games.
Erzurum will set a record of countries and athletes participating.
Most athletes came to Erzurum from Russia.

There will be 11 types of sport. 200,000 people will be viewing the
games. TRT will broadcast the games all over the world. The 25th World
Winter Student Games will end on February 6.

The mint produced commemorative coins for the games.
