Slutsky: Russian Foreign Ministry gives adequate response to US

Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement on retaliatory measures against strengthening of the US sanctions is absolutely adequate, the Russian State Duma’s International Affairs Committee Chairman Leonid Slutsky said.

"We give no opportunity to our strategic friends to accuse us of some excessive measures … We responded proportionally and absolutely appropriately," RIA Novosti cited Slutsky as saying.

The lawmaker pointed out that Russia had been calling for the common sense for a long time but Washington "did not hear the calls."
