Turkey intensifies fight against drug traffickers

Turkish police has continued counter-narcotics operations in the country.

Seventeen suspects have been detained in Istanbul last week on suspicion of drug smuggling, the Daily Sabah reported.

In Istanbul police raided the Veliefendi Hippodrome in Bakırköy district and detained some suspects.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the country's power structures to intensify the fight against drug addiction.
