Russia border police will not allow people to pass the Russian-Abkhaz
border with passports issued by the former Soviet Union from February
1, RIA Novosti reports.

The report said that the measure has been adopted in accordance with
earlier agreements between the governments of Russia and Abkhazia.

For citizens of Abkhazia and citizens of a republic with Russian
citizens, as well as for citizens of third countries, the procedure
for crossing the Russian-Abkhaz border remains the same.
