Hamas says Iran its largest backer

The Gaza leader of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas Yahya Sinwar said that Iran is the group's largest backer in financial and military terms.

Sinwar, in his first meeting with journalists since taking up his post in February, said that the resistance group has restored ties with Iran and is preparing for future wars with Israel, Tehran Times reported.

Sinwar said that with the help from Iran Hamas is accumulating military power in preparation for a battle for "the liberation of Palestine".
