Hrachya Harutyunyan to serve rest of sentence in open prison

Armenian driver Hrachya Harutyunyan, who was convicted of causing a major traffic accident in Russia and extradited to Armenia, will serve his sentence in an open prison.

Harutyunyan has already been transferred to the respective area, the Criminal Executive Service Public Relations Department said, News.am reported.

Harutyunyan's truck had crashed into a passenger bus in July 2013, killing 18 and injuring 40 people. He was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison.
