Azerbaijan: Yerevan stages provocation ahead of foreign ministers meeting in New York
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaArmenian Foreign Ministry’s statement about the alleged ceasefire violation during the OSCE monitoring in Azerbaijan’s Tovuz district on the border between the two countries is disinformation, the spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev said.
"This is cheap disinformation by the Armenian Foreign Ministry. No ceasefire violations were reported by international observers who participated in the monitoring," APA cited Hajiyev as saying.
The diplomat noted that this is another provocation of Armenia ahead of the meeting of the two countries’ foreign ministers, which will be held through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs within the framework of the UN General Assembly session in New York in September.
He explained that Armenia, through such actions, aims to deliberately create escalation and adversely affect the negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
