Ministry of Health aims to reduce alcohol consumption in Russia

Minister of Health of Russia Veronika Skvortsova, spoke about one of the main tasks of the department for the coming years.

"Our most important task is to reduce consumption to 8 liters per year and even lower," Gazeta.ru quotes her as saying with a reference to RNS.

In late August, the Ministry of Health reported that alcohol consumption in Russia fell  to 10.3 liters from 14.3 liters of alcohol per capita due to the growth of excises from 2009 to 2017.
