In mid-2011 an Azerbaijani system of tracking and control of ships will start functioning in the Caspian Sea, APA reports. Equipment has already been bought and delivered to the country.

The system will register all ships entering and leaving the Caspian Sea. It differs from the common system of the Coast guard, which controls only boundaries. The system will gather the information and
send it to a coordination centre.
