Russian patriarch hails inter-religious dialogue in Azerbaijan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAzerbaijan conducts a successful inter-religious dialogue, combining
freedom of faith and reasonable protectionist measures, the Patriarch
of Moscow and All-Russia Kirill said, Trend repots, citing the
official website of the Moscow Patriarchy.
The patriarch underlined that the Orthodox community in Azerbaijan
feels secure and is not oppressed. Azerbaijan opens new churches using
Muslim donations.
Kirill said that the Russian Orthodox Church has good ties with the
Grand Mufti of the Religious Council of the Caucasus Sheikh ul-Islam
Haji Allahshükür Hummat Pashazade, who was awarded with the highest
church orders. He is an honorary co-chair of the Inter-religious
Council of the CIS since 2004. He is heading the Consultative Muslim
Council of the CIS since 2009. The council unites the leading Muslim
organization in the CIS space, the Russia patriarch said in his
message.
