Police officers killed in Kabardino-Balkaria

Unknown assailants shot five police officers at a café in Chegem
District of Kabardino-Balkaria and stole their weapons. Four police
officers died, RIA Novosti cites a spokesman of the local
investigation department as saying.

The attack happened at approximately 12.30 (Moscow time) on Lening
Street. There were four assailants. They stole four sub-machine guns
and 120 bullets.

The source named the dead police officers: senior lieutenants Alim
Nazranov and Azret Unezhev, lieutenants Artur Batov and Zaur Tambiyev.

He said that unknown assailants stole a vehicle belonging to a local
1.5 hours prior to the attack.
