The Georgian capital Tbilisi celebrates the city’s most colourful and spectacular festival – Tbilisi City Fest, or Tbilisoba - which takes place this weekend.

Immense fun, artistic performances, flavourful wine, delicious food, music and folk dances – these will be only part of the plethora of attractions Tbilisi offers on October 7-8, Agenda.ge reports.

The two-day event celebrates the diversity and history of Tbilisi. People from all over the country and further abroad are expected to join the celebration.

Rike Park/Europe Square, Metekhi Bridge and "New Tiflis” host the main attractions like auto show, wine and culinary festivals, flower exhibition and many more.

The festival will end with the Award Ceremony for Honorary Citizens of Tbilisi and Gala Concert at Legvtakhevi tomorrow evening.

This year is the 37th edition of the festival and it is the largest annual event held in Georgia’s capital.

The festival was first marked in October 1979 and soon became one of the country's most colourful and spectacular celebrations.

Marked as a public holiday, Tbilisoba traditionally attracts thousands of people and hosts all sorts of events from mid-morning until late in the evening.
