Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered his address at the Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in St. Petersburg, touching on a number of acute international issues.

In particular, he noted the fact that the system of international law was eroded, limiting the dialogue. "Throughout the world, parliaments express the will of their peoples, play a significant role in the development of national development models and, of course, in finding adequate answers to contemporary challenges and threats that are common to all of us. They are responsible to the erosion of the system of international law , and the culture of interstate dialogue, unfortunately, this a common practice today, " the president said, adding that in recent years, more and more efforts have been made to limit direct contacts and communications of legislators.
