Foundation for new bridge over Samur River layed
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAzerbaijan and Russia have held the groundbreaking ceremony of the motorway bridge over the Samur River on the border between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by delegations led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, Russia’s Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov and others.
Sokolov noted that he hopes that the bridge will be launched in spring months of 2019, APA reported.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place in the territory of Yarag-Gazmalar checkpoint in Maharramkand district of Dagestan.
The intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a new highway bridge over the Samur River was signed on 13 September 2013.
The new bridge will replace the former one built in 1957. The three-lane bridge will be 325.3 meters in length and 17.3 meters in width.
