In Chechnya and Ingushetia statements by the Duma's vice speaker are considered slander the peoples of the North Caucasus

In Ingushetia officials have been paying close attention to the statements about peoples of the North Caucasus made by the deputy chairman of the State Duma, Vladimir Zhirinovsky on the state TV-channel "Rossia-1".

"The nationalistic conception of Vladimir Zhirinovsky and his speech are directed against the multinational structure of Russia, against the national unity and development of greater Russia, against the Constitution of the Russian Federation and against its peoples. It is directed at inter-ethnic  conflicts, civil war and the destruction of the state." Deputies of the National Council of Ingushetia said in an address to the speaker of the State Duma, Boris Gryzlov.

The powerful regional non-governmental organization "Bart" is furious about Zhirinovsky's statements too. The chairman of the organization, Bamatgiri Gandaloyev, said that it was not the first time that Zhirinovsky had slandered the Caucasus.
