Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev appointed Almazbek Kurmanaliev Kyrgyz Security Council Secretary.

The President has relieved of duties Kyrgyz Security Council Secretary Jenish Razakov and appointed him presidential aide, a presidential spokesman said.

"Atambayev has signed an order to relieve Razakov of duties and appoint him Kyrgyz presidential aide," Interfax cited the spokesman as saying.

Razakov was appointed Kyrgyz Security Council Secretary in late August. He was a deputy prime minister since June 2016, and occupied the position of the government's plenipotentiary representative (governor) to the Batken region in 2012-2016.
