Nalchik Airport might be included in Federal Target Program

Yesterday, a meeting between head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA) Alexander Neradko and head of Kabardino-Balkaria Yuri Kokov was held in Moscow. During the meeting the parties discussed the possibility of including the Nalchik international airport in the Federal Target Program of the Federal Air Transport Agency "Development of the Russian Transport System for 2010 -2020’, the press service of the head and government of the KBR reported.

As the head of the KBR noted at the meeting, the implementation of this project will improve the tourist climate in the republic and help the development of the economy in the region. Separately, the reconstruction of the airport runway was also discussed. It will increase the airport’s passenger traffic to half a million people a year. 3.9 billion rubles are needed to complete all necessary work, Caucasus Today reports.
