A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump is important, of course, but it's not the key event, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"It is important, but not the most important," RIA Novosti cited Peskov as saying.

"We don't fully understand yet [whether the meeting to be held]. But we are patiently continuing to work in order to come to an understanding. Both presidents are in town. One way or another they will cross paths," the spokesman stressed.
