The Russian Emergencies will establish a common mountain rescue
service in the near future. It will be based on mine rescue brigades
(MRB), RIA Novosti cites the head of the MRB department Alexander Sin
as saying.

The president ordered the MRB to become part of the Emergencies
Ministry on May 6, 2010. They were supervised by the Ministries of
Industry and Trade, Energy and the Federal Service for Ecology,
Technological and Atom Monitoring. The MRB consists of the federal
unitary enterprise "metallurgbezopasnost", "MRB" and the "MRBD for
construction", with a total of 5,000 people involved.

The National Air-Mobile rescue training center of mine rescuers and
miners will also be part of the common mountain rescue service, which
will be founded in 2013 with headquarters in Kemerovskaya Region, Sin
said.

The air-mobile center will have 363 mine rescuers, 100 of them will be
part of the emergency groups for complicated rescue operations.
Establishment of the center will improve the quality of mountain
rescue services and mining staff. Higher education centers of the
Emergencies Ministry will carry out education and training.
