Kanokov meets Supreme Mufti of Caucasus

Militant activities meet neither the traditions of Kabardino-Balkaria
nor religion, the head of the republic Arsen Kanokov said at a meeting
with the Grand Mufti of the Caucasus Haji Allahshükür Hummat Pashazade
in Nalchik, RIA Novosti reports.

Kanokov said that they will take the harshest measures against people
attacking the innocent. They do not recognize nationalities,
traditions and their relatives, he noted.

Pashazade said that it is a problem of society in general. If the
militants motivate themselves with religion the authorities should
demonstrate that it is not our religion and should not allow them to
hide behind it, he said.

The leader of Kabardino-Balkaria and the Grand Mufti talked on
establishing a religious center for prevention of false interpretation
of Islam.
