Border crossing in South Caucasus simplified

Armenian and Georgian experts and officials of state agencies
discussed evaluation and management of risks of the border and customs
service of the two countries in Yerevan, bizzone.info reports.


The issue consists of five modules of the program for complex border
management of the South Caucasus, realized by the development program
of the UN and financed by the EU, head of the program in Georgia
Nikoloz Samkharadze said.


He clarified that the program concerns Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He mentioned another module, training involving inspectors from the
academies of the Ministries of Finances and Interior Affairs of
Georgia.


Samkharadze said that one of the main modules is modern equipment at
border crossing points, especially at the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen
checkpoint. He emphasized that Armenia and Georgia have no major
problems on the border. They plan to simplify the border crossing
process.
