Sochi puts first Olympic energy facility into operation

The first energy facility for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games has gone into operation in the host city of Sochi, reports ITAR-TASS, citing a Kubanenergo spokesman.

He also noted that although the Rodnikovskaya electric substation was still technically under reconstruction, the amount of work conducted meant that it could be classified as having already been reopened.

Reconstruction was started in 2008 and was completed three months in advance in schedule.

The substation will provide with energy the building of multi-level junction in Sochi, as well as an automatic railroad operating system
