Ali Akbar Salehi officially became the head of Iran's diplomacy

On January 30 Iranian Parliament endorsed the candidacy of Ali Akbar Salehi on the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the voting in Parliament 146 MPs voted in support of his candidacy, 60 – against, 35 - abstained.
Salehi was born in Iraq but lived in Iran, educated in Beirut and the U.S. He speaks Arabic and English. During the presidency of Mohammad Khatami Salehi was the official Ambassador of Iran to the IAEA, and from 2009 he was the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
