ISIS suspects planning New Year attacks detained in Turkey

Turkish security forces detained 12 people with suspected ISIS links today during anti-terror operations in the southern province of Adana.

A police official said that anti-terror police carried out simultaneous raids on several addresses in the province.

Twelve suspects, planning to carry out attacks during New Year's celebrations, were detained during the operations, Anadolu Agency reported.

Separately, counter-terrorism units carried out an operation today targeting ISIS suspects in Istanbul ahead of New Year’s Eve.

There were reports of detentions during the operation but security officials did not provide any specific number.
