Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Olive Branch operation against the Kurdish People's Protection Units in Afrin will be completed in a short period.

The President said that the operation started against the YPG in northern Syria on January 20 would be completed in "a very short time," as Turkish ground troops entered Syria.

"God willing, this operation will be finished in a very short time," the Daily Sabah cited Erdogan as saying.

The president said that the PKK-linked YPG cannot rely on US support to defeat Turkey, while noting that some of Turkey's allies have provided 2000 planes and 5000 trucks of weapons and ammunition to the terrorists.
