Iran urges elections in Egypt

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has called upon the Egyptian army to help the democratic process in the country for the formation of a new government, Iranian news agency Press TV reports.

"The Egyptian army, which has taken responsibility for running the country, will try to meet the legal and rightful expectations of the nation and abide by their demands and make immediate preparations for elections to establish a popular government of competent figures and draw up a new constitution based on the dignity of the Egyptian nation," Salehi said on Saturday.
